The first chapter · Year 1

One gentle week.
A clearer way to begin.

Our pilot brings reading, writing and number practice together in five flexible days. It’s supplementary support, not a complete homeschooling program.

Planned pilot contents

5 days

Short lessons. Hands-on moments. Time to try again.

Approximately 20–30 student pages

Plus a separate parent guide and answer key. Final contents and page count will be confirmed after review.

01

Know where to start

A preparation checklist, clear learning objectives and a flexible weekly timetable. Gather inexpensive household supplies, then choose a pace that suits your family.

02

Learn by doing

Short worked examples, literacy and numeracy worksheets, and hands-on activities. Easier support tasks and extensions help you adjust the challenge.

03

Notice the little wins

Separate answers, marking guidance and a simple progress checklist help you see what’s understood and what needs another go.

Growing carefully, not all at once.

Years 2–7, Science, Humanities, weekly and term bundles are on the roadmap—not available packs. Curriculum references will be published only after checking official Australian Curriculum sources and relevant Queensland requirements.

Try together / 01Year 1 · Number practice

How many ways to make 10?

Gather 10 counters or dry pasta pieces and two small bowls. Split the counters between the bowls. Count each group, then count them all.

Say: “I have 4 here and 6 here. Four plus six makes ten.” Try another split. Draw your groups on paper and write the number sentence.

Check together: Does every split still make 10? Examples: 1 + 9, 2 + 8, 5 + 5.

Adjust it: Start with 5 counters for support. For a challenge, find all the different splits of 10.

Use age-appropriate counters with adult supervision.
